I have been in the teaching field for over twenty years. I teach high school Physical Education (grades 9-12), Wellness (grade 9), and Junior Seminar (grade 11). I am also the Head Boys Varsity Lacrosse coach, an assistant Varsity Football coach and help run the weightlifting program in the offseason months. As a Physical Education teacher, I adjust and modify daily, monthly and yearly schedules to meet the needs of my students. It is important to collaborate with my staff to enable the best ideas and practices to be used in order to educate our students at the highest level. I am a hard-working, dedicated teacher, with leadership abilities and have an excellent rapport with students, teachers, administrators, and all school staff. I truly enjoy working with the students at Mashpee High School.

My career at Mashpee Public Schools began approximately 20 years ago when I was honored to join the Mashpee community as a physical education teacher and coach. I brought with me the vast knowledge I gained through my education at Westfield State College where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and that I gained over my extensive coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels.
My collegiate coaching includes serving as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Bridgewater State College, Wheaton College, Westfield State College, and Johnson & Wales University. I also served as the Head Women’s Softball Coach at Westfield State College and Johnson & Wales University. Before coming to Mashpee, my high school coaching experience included serving as Head Women’s Basketball and Softball Coach at Granby Junior/Senior High School and serving as the Head Women’s Softball Coach at Bishop Feehan High School.
Before joining the staff of Mashpee Public Schools, my teaching experience included working as a Visiting Professor at Bridgewater State College, Wheaton College, and Westfield State College, and as a teacher at Westfield Public Schools and Holbrook Public Schools.
The passion, commitment, and experience I gained in these various positions served me well as I began my career as a physical education teacher, soccer, basketball and softball coach in Mashpee. To this day, I continue to wholeheartedly enjoy teaching the mechanics of sports and physical education, encouraging students to enjoy healthy lifestyles, and imparting the knowledge I have accumulated.
During my tenure at Mashpee Public Schools, I have not allowed my education and coaching experiences to plateau. Rather, I have continued my education and received my Master’s Degree in Education from Cambridge College and received my C.A.G.S. from the University of New England. I became a certified official for soccer, softball, basketball and boys’ lacrosse. During my coaching career at Mashpee Middle/High School, I was honored as Coach of the Year two times and was honored with the Massachusetts Women in Athletics Distinguished Service Award in 2008.
I continue to actively serve as a soccer official for the Cape Cod Soccer Officials Association and as a basketball official for the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials Board 152.

I have been a high school physical educator here at Mashpee Middle-High School since the start of the 2018-2019 academic year. In addition to my role in the Physical Education department, I have an additional responsibility as the boy’s varsity basketball head coach. As a teacher and coach in this school system I take pride in helping students, as well as, student-athletes understand the importance of how the now, can influence their futures.
Prior to working at MMHS I coached boys basketball at Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio where I was also a part of Spire’s admissions team from 2016 to 2018. In my first year out of college, I was an associate director of the operations team for Zero Gravity Basketball, based out of Beverly, MA from 2015 to 2016. I received my undergraduate education from Bridgewater State University and graduated in the Spring of 2015. Before BSU, I graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 2011.

I was raised in Manchester N.H. and am a first-generation Greek-American. After earning an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of New Hampshire, I served for seven years as an Intelligence Officer for the U.S. Air Force and completed my career following Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I earned a master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and began my career in teaching. Prior to my employment with the Mashpee School District in the fall of 2002, I was employed with the Clark Country School District in Las Vegas Nevada. During this time, I strived to maintain a balance between family obligations as a military officer’s wife and a strong personal desire to pursue professional work in the field of health and physical education.
I have enjoyed living and teaching on Cape Cod. I have instructed at all grade levels to include higher education and have taught a variety of classes to include health education, physical education, Early Childhood Education, Culinary, Junior Seminar, and Senior Seminar. I have been very active as an advisor and mentor with a variety of student clubs and organizations. I am a certified instructor for the American Red Cross and am committed to continuing to teach these vital skills to all my students. Several hundred students have received this training in my Wellness/health education classes. I have also been a certified GateKeeper through the Department of Mental health and have worked passionately to conduct formal Suicide Prevention Training/Depression Screening. I have enjoyed my role as faculty advisor to the MHS Human Rights Club, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), Senior Club Advisor, and Special Olympics. One of my proudest accomplishments is being awarded the 2016 MIAA Wellness Coordinator of the Year.
I have two wonderful boys who are MMHS Alumni. Theodore is a graduate of the University of Maryland while Arisitide is currently a Junior at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
