Special Education
Welcome to Special Education at Mashpee Middle-High School!
We are so glad you are part of our school community. At MMHS, we are dedicated to creating a welcoming, inclusive space where every student feels supported, valued, and ready to thrive.
You know your child best, and we see families as our most important partners. For our students in grades 7–12, our Special Education team works hand-in-hand with you, your student, and our staff to build customized Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Together, we focus on your student’s unique strengths and goals—helping them build confidence, learn to advocate for themselves, and prepare for life after graduation.
Whether your child needs specialized instruction, extra learning support, or classroom accommodations through a 504 Plan, we are here to make sure they have everything they need to succeed.

Join SEPAC
We encourage all families to connect with our Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC). SEPAC is a wonderful group of parents and educators working together to support families and strengthen our programs district-wide.
What is the SEPAC?
SEPAC stands for Special Education Parent Advisory Council. It is a friendly group of parents and guardians whose children need a little extra help or have an IEP or 504 plan. We believe that every child can succeed, and we are here to support each other.
Why Should You Join Us?
You are the expert on your child. We need your ideas to make our school a better place for students with all kinds of learning needs. By joining us, you can:
- Have a Voice: Share your ideas about how special education works in our schools.
- Get Support: Meet other parents who understand what it is like to raise a child with extra needs.
- Learn New Things: We host talks on helpful topics like student rights, anxiety, and how to help kids stay organized.
- Work Together: We meet with school leaders to help plan programs that work for our kids.
How do I get involved?
You do not need to be an expert on school rules to join. You just need to care about your child and our community. We welcome all families and would love to have you at our next meeting!
